Hands-On Calligraphy Workshop!
This two-hour, hands-on workshop will introduce you to some classic letter forms, a few historical variations, and options for personalizing your lettering. We'll use calligraphy markers and dip pens.
The class is good for people 10 and up, no experience needed. Good handwriting is not required and all materials will be supplied.
• Bring a firm pillow or thick cushion to sit on, it may make your working height, more comfortable; tables are often too high for comfortable lettering.
• Also, bring a short quotation to practice (fewer than 15 words), or some envelopes you'd like to address (don't forget to bring the addresses to put on the envelopes).
• Dress for the possibility of ink spills.
Lorraine has been a calligrapher most of her life. She began exhibiting and selling her work in 1989. She learned from Sheila Waters, Glen Epstein, and others.
