Books on Tape
Books on tape and other audio tapes for children & adults are available for loan. More titles are available through Interlibrary Loan.
CDs
Hundreds of CDs are on hand for loan. More titles are available through Interlibrary Loan.
Fiction
Arranged alphabetically by author. Separate shelving for mysteries, westerns, science fiction and adult literacy materials.
Government Documents
Special collections of materials are available, including a representative collection of local, state and federal government documents on file in the reference area, and on our Federal & State Agencies page. Please ask for assistance in locating these materials.
Large Print
A collection of fiction easy-on-the-eye books is available for loan in the Adult Fiction area of the Library. Non-fiction large print is now shelved with the regular non-fiction books.
Local History Collection
Materials about Portage and Columbia county are available for use in the Sanderson Memorial Room. Included are: old plat books; city directories; picture files and local histories. The complete contents of several local history books is also available from our Genealogy & Local History page.
Magazines and Newspapers
More than 50 magazine titles and 12 newspapers are offered for use in the library. Back issues may be borrowed. More magazines and newspapers are available through online databases available on the Internet at the library.
Story Hour Kits
A collection of program materials can be borrowed by daycare providers to create their own story times.
Vertical File
Pamphlets, clippings, brochures, government documents and more are available on topics of current, practical and historical interest.
Videocassettes
A collection of titles in VHS & DVD formats are available for a 7-day loan period. Other titles can be obtained through Interlibrary Loan. Educational, Film Classics and Children's Close-Captioned Videos are provided.
